I’m Al. I arrived here in Hampstead about 5.5 years ago. About a year or so later I started fishing around the Topsail and Wrightsville Beach area. Another year went by and I had the opportunity to meet Mike(alias Topsail Angler). He was the first experienced fisherman that I met in the area. I gained quite a bit of fishing info from Mike. It took me a bit to put some of what I learned & believe to be a goldmine of info together. Thankfully, my fish catching abilities have improved substantially. I’m still looking to learn and I look forward to sharing, helping and encouraging others with their fish catching skills.
I currently fish nearshore and offshore with a 21’ deep v Polar. I’m confident that this site will be a positive addition for anyone interested in fishing!

Hey Al, thanks for joining in!  I enjoyed fishing with you int he past and glad to see you are enjoying yoruself.  I knwo from some of your post on other boards that you have caught some nice fish and are doign great!  I look forward to your fishing reports.

Mark—Always a pleasure! Have you caught any Kings off the pier lately? I hear the Kings have been hitting up pretty decently lately.

I caught a 10.5 lb’er last Tuesday.  There were 9 total caught last week.  3 over 20.  Texted the pier’s owner today,  and he said there were 4 caught yesterday,  and 4 today,  and his son (12 yrs old I think)  got 2 of them, a 22,  and 25 lbs.

Mark—That’s good news! Good to hear that there are enough Kings around to keep the adrenalin pumping!!! Thanks!
