We started fishing in the vicinity of Surf City this morning at 9 am. Fished til 12pm. We hit an area of a bay we had not fished since spring. Glad we did. Two seperate schools of fish in there, one of which I would not be scared to say is 700+ fish. This school of reds was larger than my house. The bad part is you would throw a topwater, work it across the school, immediate hookup. But when that red blew up the bait, the rest of the school would go haywire. Eruption. Amazing sight, wish I had brought my video camera for those that have never seen reds pushing water like this. After the fish, it would take 10-15mins. for the school to come together so we could locate them again. Caught 12-14 fish total. Badonkadonk topwater put them all in the boat. Left the fish still active at noon on topwater. They were in 8in of water to 2’. Look at the pic of the tiny one eating topwater. Hounnngry. Biggest fish was 25”-26,” and my son caught that one.

Sweet!  Very nice catching day for you and the young man!  I got your message with the invite to go but had to work today.  I’d have rather been with you though.  Maybe next time.
