Hi everyone!

Here it is:

7th Annual Family reunion June 25th-July 3rd on North Topsail Beach. We are walking distance to new river inlet and the open ocean.

We are looking to hire a “Shore fishing Instructor” for 4-6 hours to go over rigs and baits, fishing the inlet and in the surf from right outside our rental house. We are thinking maybe 2-6 people in this little class. A few of us are big freshwater fishermen from up north, but surf fishing and saltwater brings on a whole different ballgame. We are looking for someone to show us techniques and rigs and baits to use so that we can start catching different species, even something for the dinner table.

If you are the right person, or know of anyone that would be interested, please contact me. I am thinking either Sunday June 26th, or Tuesday June 28th. We are a laid back group, it will be a lot of fun. If you know anyone that might be interested please email me at marcooooos at comcast dot net, or post back on the forum. We can discuss compensation and set up a date and time. Let me know if this works or if you have any other suggestions.

A great way to save strain on the old back and also reduce the chances of loosing an anchor on a hang is an anchor ball.

    1) Slip the ring around your anchor line and fasten the ring ends into the cliphook which is attached to the rope and buoy.
    2) Drop the ball into the water and motor towards the anchor.
    3) Run past the anchor at the speed of 6-8 knots at a slight angle to the anchor to keep the line from going under the boat. The buoy will mostly submerge until the buoyancy of the buoy raises the anchor.
    4) When the anchor is fully raised into the ring, the buoy will pop to the surface. The ring will hold the anchor at the surface (because the chain is on the other side of the ring countering the weight).
    5) Slowly return to the buoy while you are retrieving the loose rope.
    6) Carefully lift the buoy and anchor into your boat.

No tugging, not heavy pulling, just push the EASY BUTTON!
